BONUS QUESTION ON CHEMISTRY EXAM
The following is supposedly an actual question given on a University
of Washington chemistry mid-term.
The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared
it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now
have the pleasure of enjoying it as well.
Bonus Question:
Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?
Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law
(gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some
variant.
One student, however, wrote the following:
First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we
need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate
at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once
a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave, therefore, no souls are
leaving.
As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different
religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state
if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since
there is more than one of these religions and since people do not
belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to
Hell.
With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of
souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of
change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order
for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume
of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.
This gives two possibilities:
1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls
enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase
until all Hell breaks loose.
2. If Hell i expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in
Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes
over.
So which is it?
If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman
year that, "it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,"
and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then
number 2 must be true, and thus I am sure Hell is exothermic and has
already frozen over.
The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen, it follows
that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore,
extinct...leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a
divine being, which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh
my God."

10 ways to have a better day!
by Geno Stampora
-
Wake up 30 Minutes Early.
Get up 30 minutes before the alarm goes off and take the first half hour for yourself. Once you get busy and into the day there never seems to be the time for yourself. Take this time to plan getting the most from the day.
-
Read, Listen, or Watch Something Uplifting.
Make this a daily habit. Get out of starting the day with no mental food. A great day does not begin with the news or the paper, it begins with ideas or energy that will propel you through the day. What you first hear will stay with you throughout the day.
-
Eat a Good Breakfast to Start You Off Right.
Get something good into your body to wake it up and get it going. Think about the energy you will need to perform. Everyday we run a marathon. What would you need to eat and drink to win it.
-
Choose Your Winning Attitude.
There is enough to go wrong without sabotaging yourself. Your attitude is a choice you make. Don't let it come between you and your success. Be careful to keep it positive all day long.
-
Be Aware of What They are Telling You.
The people around us have a profound effect on how we get through life. Our closest friends and family are our greatest environmental influences. Make sure you have the best advisors you can find.
-
Make the Most of What You Do.
When you get to your work, make it the best place to be. Most people go to work and never think about work while they are there. Focus on your contribution. What would it be like if you were not around. Strive to give a 100% each and every day.
-
Always Remember that People are Listening.
Make a point of talking well of others. Wish others the best in life. What goes around does come around. Don't talk negative about anyone. Try to understand their circumstances Practice being a support system to your friends and family. They need you.
-
Be Honest and Fair to Others.
It does make a difference. What you give to others is usually what you get from others. Practice integrity that people can see and feel. Be aware of what you say. Learn to walk your talk at all times. The more people trust you, the more of their time they will trust with you.
-
Pace Your Energy to Last All Day.
Be careful of bursts of energy. Pace your energy throughout the day. If you get to crazy early in the day, you will reach a point of exhaustion before the day is over. By planning your entire day before you begin, you will have what you need. You've heard the old saying "look alive."
-
Get in Bed Early and Study for the Future.
I have a friend who keeps a journal at his bedside. Every night he writes what he learned new on that day. The only way to keep one step above the masses is to learn new ways to do things. Develop the habit of reading a work or personal development book before you go to sleep. Reading for 30 minutes a day is like a year of college. You can't succeed if you don't read. Remember throughout your day that life is what we make it, day by day. Practice having the best day ever. It adds up to a great life.

My friend Zaza nvited me, apple, Gauie, charmz and a lot more to go with her to their resort in Camotes Island. Just the 5 of us are able to make it there. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay, fresh air to breathe, and even just to forget the busy life you have in the city, this place is the best.
See the pic? I know it doesn’t say much about the place, but our faces say it all. ÜÜÜ

Hmmm...
Now what did I do yesterday?
Okay, it really is not an extraordinary day but still... here goes...
After 8 ours of tiring work, I went to the mall with some friends... We ate lunch, had a little chat and after that we went our separate ways... Cher strolled around the mall, Ivy and Sahi went to grocery, and Apple and I watched HITCH starring Will Smith. Have you watched this? It really is a very nice movie. Romantic COmedy. While we were at the movie house, we noticed that people are indeed enjoying the show. The story is about a matchmaker helping his fellow gentlemen get hooked up with their ideal girl.
Oooopppsss.. before I get so engrossed in telling you the story, I better stop now or else you'll tire yourself reading my article. I suggest that you just watch it yourselves. It's worth your time.
At home? Oh well... All my housemates were asleep. One just got up to open the door for me but she also got back to sleep once I was in. I didn't even have the chance to say hi hello to them... I entertained myself by watching DVD - The Wedding Planner. Jennifer Lopez? I know this was an old movie but I still enjoy it nonetheless.
I ate dinner, took a bath and snoozed..

There really isn't much to write right now. I was just browsing the net.. You know, updating myself for what's up and what's hot over the internet when one of my friends, Apple, opened her own blog. She showed me hers (the updated version) and I was kinda motivated to update my blog as well. I know... I've been saying this for several times already but hopefully, this one is for good.
I opened my site, checked on the new comments and everything. Zaza even promised me to lend me one of her html books for me to learn something new which I/we can apply on my/our blog(s). Guess what I'm feeling right now? A while ago I was so sleepy that I wanna snooze however, now, I am so hooked up with this blog AGAIN.
========================
Have you ever felt the emotion when one time you want such a thing so badly that you're willing to do anything just to get that certain thing? And then once it was near your grasp, you just feel like you don't want it anymore? And that you can't imagine yourself wanting that thing for a certain moment and can't decipher why you once had the urge to have that thing? Well, I honestly have.
I've been wanting to treat myself for a trip for a week somewhere where I can relax, enjoy and have fun... and at the same time find peace but absolutely not solitude because I planned to have the trip with some dear friends and I really love the crowd. I saved and imagined almost everyday of my life in that Island of paradise but when the day of our trip is nearing, I don't wanna go anymore. I just want to stay here in my place, do some simple stuffs like watching movies ( which by the way I've been doing for ages without any question at all), bar hopping (occasionally), listening to music and going to work. I know I may sound silly and you guys may think, 'So what's a week away from these things? It won't do you any harm'. Anyway, I have not even asked my supervisor if I can file a leave for this. Well, probably what I'm feeling are just jitters... for what? I dunno... Oh well...

Life will always be full of ups and downs. I know this is already a cliche but it really is. It may be difficult at times but it's how to struggle to alter such difficulties. We cry but in every tear we shed, we learn to smile. We get hurt but it is through getting hurt that one knows the real happiness. We vie over something or someone. That is why we take risks. Risks of losing and of getting hurt. We sometimes start with the wrong foot; thus, hurting us and the people around us more but because of that mistake that we become cautious to avoid getting the same mistake again. And with these wrongdoings we once had that we learn to enjoy life more, laughing with and learning from these mix ups. Life is a battle. You win. You lose. You gain friends and enemies. But it's all about your view about life that matters. Life is what you make it. The best way to do is to live with it. Live life to the fullest. Trust me. Once you do, you'll hit home.
